Dead Face: The Beginning of My Journey as a Novelist

There are stories we write because we have an idea, and then there are stories that stay with us until we have no choice but to write them down.

Dead Face is that story for me.

I’m excited to share that Dead Face is my debut novel—the first full-length novel I have written and the beginning of my journey as an author.

Writing a debut novel is not simply about putting words on pages. It is about creating a world, building characters, questioning every scene, rewriting chapters, and sometimes staring at the same paragraph wondering whether it truly belongs in the story. Dead Face has taken me through all of those stages.

A Story Built Around One Night

Dead Face is a supernatural horror and psychological thriller that revolves around Max, a teenager who finds himself alone in his house for a night that gradually becomes something far more terrifying than he could have imagined.

What begins as an ordinary evening slowly turns into a series of strange events, unanswered questions, and impossible choices.

At the center of the story is something mysterious—a presence that challenges Max’s understanding of what is real and what is not.

The house becomes more than just a setting. It becomes a place where every sound can mean something, every hour can bring a new threat, and every decision can have consequences.

Why Horror?

Horror has always fascinated me because it is not only about monsters or frightening moments.

The best horror, in my opinion, comes from uncertainty.

It comes from asking questions.

What if you were completely alone?

What if something knew things about you that nobody else could know?

What if the one thing you wanted most came true—but not in the way you expected?

These ideas became an important part of Dead Face.

I wanted to create a story where the fear doesn’t simply come from what the reader can see. Sometimes, the most frightening thing is what the reader cannot explain.

My First Novel

Calling Dead Face my debut novel makes the project especially meaningful to me.

This is my first major step into the world of fiction writing. Like every first novel, it carries the excitement, mistakes, experiments, and lessons that come with learning how to tell a story.

The manuscript has gone through multiple stages of writing and revision. Scenes have been rewritten, chapters have changed, ideas have been added and removed, and the story has continued to evolve.

But the heart of Dead Face has remained the same:

A terrifying night. A mysterious presence. And a choice that changes everything.

More Than Just a Horror Story

Although Dead Face is built as a horror story, I wanted it to have something underneath the scares.

Fear can reveal people.

When a character is placed in an impossible situation, we begin to see what they are willing to do, what they regret, what they value, and how far they will go to protect the people they love.

That psychological side of the story is something I particularly enjoyed exploring while writing Dead Face.

The Beginning

Dead Face is not the end of my writing journey.

It is the beginning.

As my debut novel, it represents the first major story I chose to take from an idea in my head to a complete manuscript. Whatever comes next, Dead Face will always have a special place in my journey because it was the story that started it all.

I hope readers who enjoy supernatural horror, psychological mysteries, dark atmosphere, and stories filled with unanswered questions will eventually step into Max’s night and experience Dead Face for themselves.

And if there is one thing I want readers to remember before opening the book, it is this:

Some doors are better left unopened.
